Local-First Architecture

TaskSmart is designed with privacy-first principles. The app operates 100% offline and stores all your data locally on your device:

• ✅ No cloud sync required - All data stays on your device
• ✅ No account creation - Use the app immediately without registration
• ✅ No data transmission - Your tasks, events, goals, and habits never leave your device
• ✅ Local Database - All data is stored in a local database on your device

What Data We Store Locally

TaskSmart stores the following information only on your device:

• Tasks, subtasks, and task details (titles, descriptions, due dates, priorities, statuses)
• Events and calendar entries
• Goals, milestones, and progress tracking
• Habits and habit completion records
• Tags, lists, and custom statuses
• File attachments (images, PDFs) - stored locally in the database
• Saved views and filter preferences
• App settings and preferences
• Productivity analytics and insights (calculated locally)

None of this data is transmitted to external servers or third parties.

Optional Features

AI Features (Optional)

TaskSmart includes optional AI-powered features that require an API key:

• AI Task Planner: Helps break down goals into actionable tasks
• AI Suggest Subtasks: Generates subtask suggestions
• Productivity Insights: Provides personalized productivity coaching
• Daily Briefings: AI-generated daily productivity summaries

How it works:

• You must manually configure an API key in Settings → AI Settings
• API keys are stored securely on your device
• When you use AI features, your task data is sent to your chosen AI provider
• You can disable AI features entirely by not configuring an API key
• AI features are completely optional - the app works fully without them

Ad-Supported Model

TaskSmart uses Google Mobile Ads to support the free version of the app:

• Ad Display: Ads may be displayed within the app
• Ad Personalization: Handled by Google's ad network
• No Personal Data Shared: We do not share your task data with advertisers

Local Storage Security

• All data encrypted at rest using device security features
• Database files stored in app's private directory
• No external access unless you explicitly export data

• You control when and where to export your data
• Exported files stored in your device's Downloads folder

Google Mobile Ads

We use Google AdMob for advertising. Google may collect:

Google's use of data: Partner Sites

Sentry (Error Tracking)

We use Sentry for crash reporting:

• Technical crash information
• Device type and OS version
• No personal data from your tasks

Your Rights

• Data Access: You have full access to all your data through the app
• Data Export: Export your data as JSON or CSV files anytime
• Data Deletion: Uninstall the app to completely remove all local data
• AI Opt-Out: Simply don't configure an API key to avoid AI features

Children's Privacy

TaskSmart does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app is designed for general productivity use and does not target children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page and within the app. Continued use of TaskSmart after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
